Instructions
Come into Goddess Pose.
Feet a little more than hip distance apart.
Have feet at 45 degree angle.
Make sure when you bend your knees, that your knees are above the ankle.
Make sure that the pelvis is neutral.
Inhale and bring arms out to the sides opening the chest.
Exhale down and bring hands in between your legs.
Inhale rise up and open your arms out opening the chest.
Exhale down and bring hands in between your legs.
Continue at your own pace.
Repeat a few more times.
Come back up, straighten your legs, step your feet together and relax your arms down.
Take a few integrating breaths.
Modifications
If you start to feel dizzy, bring yourself to a seated position or back up to center with your arms down by your sides.
Contraindications
Be mindful of your shoulders. For shoulders, you can bring fingertips to shoulders and make your wing span shorter.
Be mindful of your knees. For knees, modify the bend so that it is not as deep and play with the placement of your feet to find comfort in the movement.
Be mindful of your back. You do not have to bend all the way down and through your legs. You don’t have to bend at all if it’s not okay for your back. Instead, just bend the knees and keep your upper body stable and just move your arms back and forth as if you had wings.
