Surya Bhedana

Instructions

  • Place the right hand in Vishnu Mudra (forefinger and middle finger bent towards the palm; thumb, ring, and pinky fingers in the air).

  • Close off the left nostril with the ring and pinky fingers.

  • Breathe in and out of the right nostril.

  • Continue doing 5-20 rounds.

Modifications

  • If your right nostril is stuffed up, try clearing it by blowing your nose. If your nose is still stuffed up, you can visualize the practice of inhaling and exhaling through the right nostril without closing off the left nostril.
