Instructions

  • Find a comfortable seated position.

  • Take several breaths in and out, making the exhale just a bit longer than the inhale.

  • Continue this breathing pattern.

  • When you feel comfortable doing so, take your time as you look around your surroundings.

  • Allow your eyes to settle on objects within your space.

  • As your eyes settle on an object, say the name of the object out loud. 

  • If there is an object that feels more comforting to you, feel free to stay with that object and repeat the name of it out loud multiple times.

  • Repeat this process until you feel grounded and calm.
